Start time: 9:30 AM End time: 3:30 PM
Spend six glorious hours on the trails of the Koffler Scientific Reserve learning from an expert about mushrooms and other fungi. This is a repeat of last year's successful walk done for the Sierra Club of Canada.
The focus of this workshop will be on learning to identify the wide variety of fungi we encounter, from puffballs to coral fungi and everything in between. You are likely to see anywhere from 50 to 100 different species during the workshop.
There will be lots of time for questions, practicing using field guides, taking photos, and discussions on a variety of subjects such as fungal ecology, mycoremediation, etc.
While there will be some discussion of edibles, this walk is geared toward naturalists, artists, hikers, canoeists, gardeners, cottagers, and anyone else who is passionate to learn more about the natural world.
The instructor will provide: - a species checklist for each participant to keep - field guides available for use - 10x hand lenses for use
SORRY: NO DOGS
