ANNE HEATON - Known for the infectious energy of her live performances -- "a natural performer [with] a rich, soaring voice" (The Seattle Times), Heaton tours nationally, playing acoustic venues, coffeehouses, outdoor theaters, rock clubs, and festivals throughout the US. Her music has charted on CMJ and her independent release "Black Notebook" was selected as a Top DIY Pick in Performing Songwriter Magazine. After winning Soul City Cafe -- a national songwriting and live performance competition -- Anne was invited to tour the west coast with major label recording artist Jewel. She has also shared the stage with Melissa Ferrick, HEM, Jill Sobule, and Jonatha Brooke.
LAURA CORTESE - Singer, songwriter and fiddler, Laura Cortese lights up the stage with a radiating smile, dazzling musicianship and uninhibited delight. She deftly strums, plucks and chops her fiddle behind her raw and rootsy voice. Forgoing the guitar and bass of the traditional rock band, Cortese tours nationally with indie rock/folk drummer Neil Cleary (Annie Hayden, The Essex Green, Erin McKeown). On her latest release, Even the Lost Creek (February 2006), she couples the groove and polish of urban music with universal themes of the old world.
CHRISTINA COURTIN - As anyone whos caught one of Christina Courtin's live performances can attest, the New York City based musician decisively takes over whatever space she's occupying, her long dark hair flying behind her as she paces the stage, her voice malleable and otherworldly, an irrepressible smile on her face throughout. It's not simply youthful bravado but a kind of rapture that possesses herthe unalloyed pleasure of singing, connecting, pouring out as much of her heart as possible in an all-too-brief set.
