QUARTET GALANT presents Joseph Haydn: The Seven Last Words
Joseph Haydn's The Seven Last Words of Our Saviour On the Cross is a moving contemplation on the final utterances traditionally attributed to Jesus. In Haydn's original performance, a bishop delivered discourses on each word between movements. It remains one of Haydn's most unique compositions, and the members of Quartet Galant look forward to presenting it with baroque bows on gut strings in their Austin debut.
