The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (L.A. Shows)
Los Angeles, CA
Antelope Valley College's Theatre Arts Department presents Stephen Adly Guirgis' darkly comedic drama, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, a compelling and complex look at the conflict between divine love and the existence of free will.
Set in a time-bending, seriocomically imagined courtroom in Downtown Purgatory that owes as much to the ghetto as the Gospels and populated with a parade of characters that includes Pontius Pilate, Sigmund Freud, Matthias of Galilee and Mother Theresa, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot places the New Testaments most infamous sinner on trial. Should Judas burn in eternity for his betrayal or should he ascend to heaven?
This moving and soul-searching look at the consequences of choice, faith, guilt, mercy and redemption contains adult themes and language.
Note: The first performances will be in Los Angeles. The last seven performances will be at Antelope Valley College's Black Box Theatre in Lancaster, CA.
