Clearly Competent: Do You Really Have What It Takes
Workshop: Often we are intrinsically aware of our artistic interests or abilities and attempt to jump full speed ahead right into the pool. Many of us don't recognize the importance of knowing just how deep the water may be before we make that leap!
CLEARLY COMPETENT will give participants an overall picture of the basic skills, processes and personal characteristics required to represent and advocate for themselves as independent artists. Participants will also have the opportunity for a brief Q&A with an artists' manager currently working within the industry.
Facilitator: KGnu Linx Musician, artist, activist, and business administrator Keiron Lyn offers over 20 years of DIY experience; as well as arts-business certification from Work In Culture, Ryerson University, and George Brown College. Keiron is a member of the Cultural Human Resources Council and an active participant in community-based arts development.
This workshop is part of the Business Skills for Growth workshop series, an Artscape Launchpad initiative, which offers opportunities to develop creative entrepreneurship and business skills for the creative and cultural sector.
