One of Lansing's most popular annual events is back, and this year it's a fundraiser to benefit the Allen Market Place!
The "Lansing Luau" will be held May 3 at the Allen Marketplace, and the event is a "prom for adults" -- like a high school prom, only fun. We'll have refreshments (including drinks provided by Sleepwalker Spirits and Ale), dancing, a prom king & queen, prom photos and more. As with traditional proms, formal attire is required -- but RIDICULOUS formal attire is preferred.
Tickets are $20 each or $30 per couple. But wait, there's more. If you purchase your ticket, with cash, during the Allen Street Farmer's market, you will be able to save an additional $5. And, you will get the added benefit of being at the Allen Street Farmer's Market.
Ticket proceeds will benefit the Allen Market Place, as will proceeds from the evening's raffle, which will include prizes from local favorites like NCG Cinemas, Fish Ladder Tattoo Shop, Lansing United, Massage & Wellness, Classic Barber Shop, Midtown Brewing Company, and many, many more.
The event is an annual project from GAFBO (the Great American Fierce Beard Organization), Lansing's beard and mustache club. Each year GAFBO selects a local non-profit to benefit with its prom, and previous years events have raised money for the Potter Park Zoo and the Kids Repair Program.
All adults (age 21 and older) are invited to attend the "Lansing Luau." For more info, visit www.gafbo.com/LansingLuau
