KUSH ARORA and MC ZULU have been collaborating for the last four years, exploring the realms of digital bashment, dread bass, and party dub. Besides working on Kushs Brooklyn to SF CD, they have also appeared on DJ C's Gods & Robots mixtape (Mashit), and have a round of new digital singles out, including "Poison Pill," and "Lose Control". Their Dub Mission appearance will be a live bashment session featuring Kush's original riddims and live dub, and MC Zulu's original tracks, laced with the hottest dubplates from the underground, as well as Digital U.K. Roots and Steppers, U.K. Funky, Indian Dancehall, and 4x4 Dub to keep the booties moving!

KUSH ARORA has been sculpting his sound in San Francisco and beyond for the past decade, branding his own signature imprint on dancehall, dread bass, dubstep, and Indian music. With a fierce, futuristic styling rooted in both dub and electronica, his intelligent, driving tunes strike a balance between the dancehall and the studio.  Kush is a member of the Surya Dub Crew, which has been at the center for dread bass, dubstep, and electronica, winning best club night in S.F. two years in a row. He has received acclaim and shared the stage with the likes of Thievery Corporation, The Bug, Flying Lotus, and Bassnectar, and has done remixes for Balkan Beat Box, Nicodemus and Zion I, among others. Kush's work has also caught the attention of the press. He has been featured in SF Guardian, LA Weekly, XLR8R, CMJ, MIX magazine, and Boomkat. Pitchfork magazine called him a laptop musician extraordinaire who is pioneering, while BBC 1s Mary Anne Hobbes dubbed his Brooklyn To SF CD a beautiful piece of work.  His latest release is Boiling Over. www.kusharora.com or www.myspace.com/kusharoramusic

Fresh from a European tour, and a number of highly acclaimed appearances at 2009's Burning Man, MC ZULU returns to Dub Mission armed with new material from producers around the globe. MC Zulu does not make reggae in the traditional sense. His unique blend of electro bass grooves and Caribbean style dancehall vocals creates a new form of dancehall reggae from the outer reaches of space. As Urb Magazine put it: ZULU defines a new style of progressive electro-dancehall riddim.  Throughout the summer, his latest full length, Musically Massive (with David Last) has consistently ranked among the Top 30 on CMJ's RPM and New World charts. All the while, his unique approach to Reggae vocals has earned him a solid fan base worldwide. Some Recent Collaborations include: Ghislain Poirier, Radiohiro, Aceyalone, Bionik, Octapush, Megasoid, Soulico, The Drastics, Sabbo, Searchl1te, Frikstailers, Zizek, and ApSci.  www.zulumusic.net

THE SPIT BROTHERS is a San Francisco-based producers Bakir and Dubsworth's live dubstep project. The group came together in 2006 with the goal of fusing dubstep, dub, afrobeat, and other contemporary styles together and performing a dance floor-friendly style of music that also draws from live instrumental performance. Both Bakir and Dubsworth attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and play several instruments between them, such as trumpet, bass, guitar, drums, and keyboard. They also run the electronic music label Dubs Alive, which features the music of producers and musicians who bring an element of live performance to electronic music. http://www.myspace.com/thespitbrothers

Local DJ, producer, and promoter DJ SEP spins dub, dubstep, reggae, dancehall, and electronic dance music influenced by the Middle East, India, Africa, and the Americas. She is the founder, promoter, and main resident DJ at Dub Mission, one of the longest running dub & reggae parties in the U.S., possibly the world. A weekly Sunday night party based in San Francisco, Dub Mission presents cutting-edge dub, roots reggae, dancehall and dubstep, and recently celebrated its 13th anniversary. Dub Mission has featured artists from all over the world, including Mad Professor, Adrian Sherwood, Twilight Circus Dub Sound System, and The Scientist to name a few. In 1999, Dub Mission won a Bay Guardian Goldie award in the music category. DJ Sep has also been nominated for an SF Weekly Music Award in the best DJ category, and has spun at venues and clubs in London, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and throughout the Bay Area. In May 2003, she and journalist/DJ Ron Nachmann aka Shockman realized and compiled Babylon Is Ours: The USA in Dub, (www.dubmissionsf.com/theusaindub.html), a compilation of exclusive American dub tracks released by Germanys Select Cuts Records. Her current radio program, "Off The Beaten Path," is a mix of many forms of electronic music, and airs Monday nights on KPFA (94.1 FM or www.kpfa.org) from 10 pm to midnight West Coast time. DJ Sep has opened for a wide array of artists including Sly & Robbie, The Wailers, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Les Nubians, Rachid Taha, AfroCelt Sound System, Transglobal Underground, Angelique Kidjo, The Cinematic Orchestra, Culture, Big Youth, Nortec Collective, Ex-Centric Sound System, Issa Bagayogo, Habib Koite, Badmarsh & Shri, Cheb i Sabbah, and Mc Sultan. www.myspace.com/djsepmusic or http://www.dubmissionsf.com
