Description
The final concert in OSSCS's Fortieth Anniversary Season conducted by founder and Music Director George Shangrow features a World Premiere, a West Coast Premiere, and is also a part of Seattle's celebration of the music of the incomparable Leonard Bernstein. The Seattle Chamber Singers will contribute the exciting choruses, written by Bernstein in 1955, from "The Lark" to the celebration. The world premiere performance of Seattle composer Huntley Beyer's new work, "The Turns of a Girl", will be performed by soprano Jessica Robins-Milanese, for whom he work was written. Finally, Brent Edstrom, a highly respected composer, educator, and fine jazz pianist who hails from eastern Washington, will make his way to Seattle for the West Coast premiere of his toe-tapping Concerto for Jazz Piano and Orchestra. Our Fortieth Anniversary Season concludes in the comfort and excellent acoustics of First Free Methodist Church -- where the parking is always free!
