HOT AND COLD
First Free Methodist Church Seattle, WA
OSSCS and George Shangrow have invited Seattle area virtuoso classical guitarist Michael Partington to return to perform with them the Guitar Concerto No. 1 by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco (whose very name is music!). Michael performs to enthusiatic audiences world-wide and last joined OS for the world premiere of "The Underdog," a concerto for classical guitar by Portland composer Bryan Johansen. Murl Allen Sanders has written two Accordion Concerti for Orchestra Seattle. This time he adds music for the Chamber Singers with a special piece for chorus and orchestra called "She Runs Hot and Cold". The complete ballet "The Three-Cornered Hat" by Manuel de Falla completes the concert with spectacular instrumental colors and rhythms -- all performed in the excellent acoustic space that is First Free Methodist Church -- where the parking is always free!
