| Description |
An evening of exotic Bulgarian folk music.
Dilyana Kirova, a native from Bulgaria, grew up in a musical family and started playing the bassoon at the age of 12. She is a prizewinner of several competitions, including the prestigious Antonin Reicha Competition in Austria, and the Contemporary Austrian Composers Competotio. She has recorded for the Bulgarian National Television and Radio, and has performed as soloist at concertos in Bulgaria, Austria and the United States. She is presently performing for the Washington Performing Arts Society and also is a principal bassoonist for the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic. |
