Children and adults join forces in North Cambridge Family Opera Company's (NCFOC) production of SPACE OPERA - an original work based on a familiar science fiction tale of heroes and villains, robots and aliens, unlikely adventures and supernatural nonsense written and directed by long-time Cambridge resident David Bass. The 2-act opera draws on a variety of popular and classical styles of music and will appeal to audiences of all ages. "SPACE OPERA" will be performed at the King Open School, 850 Cambridge Street, Cambridge MA 02141 (East Cambridge) the weekends of March 12/13 and March 19/20, with Saturday shows at 2 PM and 7 PM, and Sunday shows at 2 PM. Tickets are $5 for children, $10 for adults, $25 for families of four (2 adults and 2 children attending the same performance). Note: All tickets ordered online will be held for you to pick up at the box office before the show. Your tickets will be available for you to pick up one hour before curtain. On line ticket sales will end 24 hours before each show. Tickets can still be purchased at the box office. This opera consists of two one-hour acts with a 20-minute intermission. Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase at intermission. Parking for SPACE OPERA performances: ON STREET PARKING: Thanks to the City of Cambridge, cast members and audience may park in the RESIDENT ONLY spaces for Saturday and Sunday performances. All other parking restrictions will be enforced, so please be cautious and courteous and observe the posted parking regulations. PARKING AT THE GENTLE GIANT LOT ON EARLE STREET Directions to the Gentle Giant Parking lot: > On Cambridge Street heading towards Lechmere Station look for Harding Street (directly across the street from King Open School, 850 Cambridge Street). > Take a left onto Harding Street and go two blocks to the end of the street and a stop sign. > At the stop sign, take a left onto South Street (not marked). > Take an immediate right onto Earle Street. > The entrance to the Gentle Giant parking lot is on Earle Street just before the street takes a sharp left-hand turn. Look for the sign saying "NCFOC OPERA PARKING" Please be courteous and note these parking restrictions in the Gentle Giant lot: Park HEAD IN along the edges of the lot. DO NOT PARK IN THE CENTER OF THE LOT. DO NOT PARK UNDER THE AWNING. You may park on Earle Street itself in the 2-hour parking spaces.
