ABOUT THE COMPANY
---------------
Kathy Mata Ballet is one of the select dance companies in the country to provide talented amateur/semiprofessional adult dancers from predominately non-dance professions the opportunity to train and perform before appreciative dance audiences. The company dancers, all of whom rehearse numerous times during the week alongside their professional work day, come from a variety of careers including internet designers/consultants, education, engineering, and scientific research. Kathy Mata Ballet brings the beauty and power of dance to the senior citizen community as well as to a loyal cadre of enthusiastic fans and supporters. Kathy Mata Ballet regularly performs at the Sequoias Senior Living Center, and at the Alonzo King LINES Dance Center, as well as an annual Holiday performance at the Castro Senior Center, throughout our dance season.  Members of Kathy Mata Ballet were also invited to perform in the Spring Dance Inspiration Benefit show at the Cowell Theater, which helped raise tens of thousands of dollars for brain tumor research and treatment. Our motto: Dance Is For Everyone!!!
