Capitalism A Love Story
Originally announced as a direct follow up to Fahrenheit 9/11 (2004) after President Bush was elected to a second term, Michael Moore gradually decided that his film would focus more on corporate America, until the 2008 financial crisis. Now his new documentary examines the disastrous effects of corporate profiteering.
"It is the perfect date movie," say Moore. "It's got it all _ lust, passion, romance and 14,000 jobs being eliminated every day. It's a forbidden love, one that dare not speak its name. Heck, let's just say it: It's capitalism."
The filmmaker scored a $100 million hit with 2004's "Fahrenheit 9/11," which centered on the Bush White House's actions after the Sept. 11 attacks. Moore won an Academy Award for his 2002 gun-control documentary "Bowling for Columbine."
