SPW45
Fall 2014 Session Saturdays, 2-5p, SAN FRANCISCO - starting September 6th
You are a solo performance veteran. You've built several "shorts," and maybe even a fabulous full length - and yet there's another story in you that demands more than 15 minutes - and you are ready to work it.
In SPW45... You will come with a defined goal. You will workshop sketched-out scenes & identified characters. You will develop a 30-45 minute show in 8 weeks. You will be committed.
Maybe you are bringing in a new idea and pages of writing. Maybe you have a 15-minute short that you want to expand. Maybe you have two shorts that you want to fuse together. No matter what your source material, the goal is to build something deeper, not just longer.
SPW45 is a small class, offering full blocks of stage time to each performer and guided high caliber feedback from your seasoned cohort. You will create a succinct piece ideal for festivals and your finished product could serve as the backbone and nervous system for a 60-90 minute show.
Your class show will feature two performers - giving you the perfect opportunity to practice new promotion strategies. SPW45 will offer you step-by-step promotion support, the building blocks for cultivating an audience and the satisfaction of splitting profits.
Class fee includes two additional hours of one-on-one direction with Martha. Registration is limited to four seasoned students.
