Place Settings: A Dinner at Winter Hill Farm

Last summer, Rosemont held its first Farm Dinner with our good friends at Winter Hill Farm in Freeport. Those lucky enough to attend raved about it for months afterward, and some of you have been (gently) pestering us to host another one. Well, we're gonna! And this September 28, for the Second Annual, we plan to outdo ourselves.

Steve, Sarah and the rest of the folks at Winter Hill are just the best. They produce an exceptional variety of delicious organic vegetables and fruits, and raise Randall and Jersey cattle, Berkshire pigs and more -- all done right, with kindness and care. As many of their devoted customers know, they also make extraordinary yogurt and cheeses from their cows' milk.

Rosemont chef Brad Messier will team up with the Winter Hill Farm crew to design a menu that shows off the beauty of these raw materials. We'll pair the multi-course menu with exceptional handmade wines. Beforehand, you'll take a tour of the farm, and cheese- and yogurt-making facilities.

We'll dine in Steve and Sarah's lovely yard, with the rolling pasture of their farm as backdrop. (If it rains, a covered post-and-beam shed with open walls will preserve much of the al fresco experience.)
