Steak and Donuts

One of a series of 5 professional one-woman shows produced by Flower and Bone Productions as a special series at Henderson County Performing Arts Center's Black Box Theatre for the 2014-2015 season. A portion of all box office proceeds will be returned to HCPAC.
Steak and Donuts is written and performed by Anna Hammonds of Nashville, TN. On a lonely Friday night, one woman confesses her story of long-lost love. Through the confectionary whims of a first love to the ultimate meaty quest for true happiness, she reveals the secret for mending a broken heart. From heartwarming stories of bar fights, childrearing, music-making and everything in between, Steak and Donuts is a play about healing. And food. Performances will be November 14, 15, and 16, 2014. Friday and Saturday shows will be at 7:30 pm with Sunday matinee at 2:00 pm.
Anna served as the Artistic Associate for BoHo Theatre in Chicago, and is now again a resident of Nashville, TN. Chicago credits include Hero: A New Musical and A Christmas Carol at Lincolnshire Marriott, Noises Off (Poppy) at Theatre at the Center, It's a Wonderful Life: Radio Play (Sally/Mary) at Fox Valley Repertory, and Whoopi Goldberg's White Noise (Laurel U/S) at Royal George Theatre. She was a company member with BoHo Theatre having appeared in the Jeff Award-winning Big River (Mary Jane, Miss Watson), and earned a Jeff nomination for Best Lead Actress in a Play as Lizzie in The Rainmaker. She served as assistant director for Jeff-nominated BoHo productions of Pippin and Floyd Collins, and director for The Spitfire Grill (Jeff nomination, Best Musical). Other theatres include two national tours of A Christmas Carol with NTC, Drury Lane Theatre, Emerald City Theatre and former company member with The Renaissance Repertory Theatre in Tennessee where she directed last summer's production of The Spitfire Grill.
