Second Season at HCPAC
Four professional one-woman shows will be produced by Flower and Bone Productions as a special series at Henderson County Performing Arts Center's Black Box Theatre for the 2014-2015 season. A portion of all box office proceeds will be returned to HCPAC.
NOTE: Season ticket prices are $60.00 for a single season ticket, and $55.00 for each additional season ticket ordered at the same time. If you wish to order more than 4 season tickets, please contact dennis@flowerandbone.com.

The first show is Sweater Curse: A Yarn About Love, a one-act solo comedy about love, great literature, old movies, new sweaters, and men worth knitting for (or not). It is written and performed by Elaine Liner of Dallas and directed by Tim Hedgepeth. Performances October 3, 4, and 5, 2014, Friday and Saturday shows 7:30 pm, Sunday matinee 2:00 pm. This play was a surprise hit at the Edinburgh Fringe in Scotland in 2013. On request, she has returned to Edinburgh with the play this year.
The 2nd show will be Steak and Donuts, written and performed by Anna Hammonds of Nashville, TN. On a lonely Friday night, one woman confesses her story of long-lost love. From heartwarming stories of bar fights, childrearing, music-making and everything in between, Steak and Donuts is a play about healing. And food. Performances  November 14, 15, and 16, 2014, Friday and Saturday shows 7:30 pm, Sunday matinee 2:00 pm.
The 3rd production is a double bill of 2 one-act comedies that take place at a school, Melva Tosti Attends Career Day, written and performed by Andi Allen, and The Elephant in the Room, written by Bruce R. Coleman and performed by LisaAnne Haram. What happens when a flamboyant, fading Italian opera diva speaks to a group of high school students about a career in opera? You get a lot of high notes and mangled English when Melva Tosti Attends Career Day. Melva Tosti shares stories and songs from her life, including her biggest claim to fame as La Diva Formaggio (The Cheesy Diva). In The Elephant in the Room, Vice Principal of Overton Middle School teeters on the brink as apathetic parents and bullying bureaucrats tear her precious ideals apart. As she confronts her enemy, she must ask herself, "What would Jane Fonda do?" If you have ever worked in a public school system this is a must-see play. Performances January 16, 17, and 18, Friday and Saturday 8:00 pm, Sunday 2:00 pm.
In the 4th production of the season, Carolyn Wickwire returns to the area in a full-length play as the iconic 20th Century artist Georgia O'Keeffe in Lucinda McDermott's O'Keeffe!, directed by Ouida White. After this play was performed in Malakoff in 2013, it was requested by popular demand that it be brought to Athens audiences. It is the story of a woman struggling to maintain her independence in a world dominated by men. It is the story of learning the ways to balance a love relationship with the demands of a talent and passion for art. Scenes from the play can be seen at www.flowerandbone.com. Performances March 13, 14, and 15, 2015, Friday and Saturday 7:30 pm, Sunday 2:00 pm.
