Sex-Positive Parenting with Airial Clark
Sacramento Sex Positive-Parenting is thrilled to welcome Airial Clark of TheSexPositiveParent.com for this fun and informative evening of candid insight based on her popular educational series, Sex-Positive Parenting: Strategies and Support for Families.
Being a sex-positive parent means we expect to be the family expert on sexuality; we understand that parents and children come in all genders and sexualities. This workshop is designed for parents who want to learn how to talk to their children about gender and sexuality, maintain a non-punitive stance toward sexuality and model healthy boundaries and consent. We can replace those larger cultural scripts that are inherently sex-negative with age-appropriate messages that are inclusive to sexual diversity.
Admission is $15 advance, $20 cash at the door.
Childcare is available in the room across the hall during this workshop for a $5 Contribution. (Contributions will help cover rent on the extra room.)
Airial Clark, M.A is the founder of The Sex-Positive Parent. She has a Master's degree in Sexuality Studies from San Francisco State and is also the parent of two tweenage sons. Airial graduated from UC Berkeley in 2007 with a BA in English Literature and Anthropology. At Cal, she was the President of the Student Parent Association. She is a contributing writer for Good Vibrations Magazine, the Sex Positive Photo Project of the SF Bay Area and Shades Magazine. Airial presented her graduate level research on the intersections of race, non-monogamy and parenting at the Open SF conference. She was recently interviewed on the Sexploration with Monika radio show and featured on My Sex Professor.com. Based out of the SF Bay Area, Airial sees the mission of her work to provide strategies and support for sex-positive parenting; specializing in community building for parents with alternative sexualities.
