Don Quixote
Meydenbauer Theatre Bellevue, WA
BRAVADO! HEROISM! ROMANCE! ILLUSION!. These qualities suffuse the fanciful tale of Don Quixote a brave Spanish Conquistador obsessed with medieval chivalry who imagines himself to be a knight errant. Along with his faithful servant, Sancho Panza, Don Q searches for his mythical love, Lady Dulcinea. Marius Petipa choreographed this unusual ballet at the height of his career, and it premiered at the Bolshoi theatre in 1869. IBT honors the ballet in its traditional style. Vibrant costumes, and fiery Spanish flavor transform this implausible story into a richly entertaining and unforgettable experience. Choreography by M. Petipa, A. Gorsky Staged by Vera Altunina Music of L. Minkus
