Calder Quartet
Schulman Auditorium Carlsbad, CA
The Festivals Founding Ensemble-in Residence performs not one but four world premieres of new works by young composers including CMF Composers Competition winner Daniel Wohl, and looks into the past with a performance of Jancek's Second String Quartet.
"I've written before that every time I hear the Calder, the ensemble seems to have reached a new level. That remains true, and now only the stars are the limit, as the Calder takes its place as one of America's most satisfying -- and most enterprising -- quartets." Mark Swed, LA Times
Note: Pre-concert talk with the artists at 7pm.
Post-concert with the artists and free food and drink immediately following the concert.
