BZG Presents- "Mark & Clark"
An evening of incredible music awaits you at the historic and exceptionally beautiful Union St. Brick Church!
You and your family are invited to attend this one-of-a-kind, all ages event featuring 4 acts & showcasing two powerful and compelling singer/songwriters at different points in their musical careers.
Maine's legendary blues guitarist, singer, and songwriter Mark "Guitar" Miller is the first of our special guests. Through thousands of performances over the last 44 years, Mark Miller's guitar prowess has brought accolades from countless music lovers, including many famous names and he is widely respected as one of Maine's foremost musicians. Mark has numerous glowing credits, including Maine's "Best Guitarist", but is a very humble and kind man and a good friend of the band. Being the type of great person he is, Mark has agreed to play gratis to support the efforts of our new musical friend Meghan Clark.
Meghan's career in music is just starting... and it's off to a fast start! Meghan is only 14, but writes her songs with an old soul. A Nashville recording artist, she is finishing her 7 song album with co-writer/producer Beau Fuller to be released in September. Like Mark, Meghan started singing from the time she could talk and began writing songs around the age of 7. She has performed at local coffee houses, benefits, and fundraisers including her own concert this year to benefit her eighth grade class. Her song "Something About Ya" will be featured (along with Bizzy Gruntry's "Trust Among Friends") on a compilation album featuring local unsigned bands and musicians being released nationwide this Fall as part of the "12 Pack Of Life" project promoting drunk driving awareness.
Between these two exhilarating performances Bizzy Gruntry's Shannon Denbow will tantalize you with beautiful selections including original songs that will be sure to leave you wanting more. The breathtaking vocals and musical arrangement takes her audience on a journey as if they're peering in on a life full of jubilation and times of sadness. Her performances are spellbinding.
Before Meghan takes the stage your hosts, Maine's own "grunge-country" band Bizzy Gruntry will play a set including songs from our debut album "Getting To Know You", which was released in June. If you haven't been to one of our shows then you don't know what grunge-country sounds like. With influences ranging from Pearl Jam & Nirvana to Johnny Cash & The Beatles, it is sure to entertain. Tom Richmond on rhythm acoustic guitar and vocals, Bernie "Flash" Kellish on percussion, and Shannon Denbow on keyboards and supporting vocals, BZG uses interesting progressions, thoughtful lyrics, and a driving energy to create tunes that will stick in your head and get your toes tappin'.
Just added to the bill are the amazing talents of "Blue Gene", a local favorite that plays the dobro that will surely make you not want to leave your seat for a moment! And we are pleased to present a very special guest that many in the Bangor area know and love...you are in for quite the surprise!
We are pleased to be able to offer such an unique and interesting arrangement for you, and will open the doors promptly at 6pm on the 30th for you to enjoy the concessions and purchase the album selections that will be available throughout the night. The show begins at 7pm and all performers are pleased to sign any of the CDs that you purchase at our "meet and greet" after the show.
Regards, Tom Richmond AKA Bizzy Gruntry
