Born out of a nine day, non-stop jam session involving four old friends, Red Hen offers old-time, country and bluegrass, with a few Celtic roots showing. Their repertoire is based in tradition, but supplemented with award-winning new music written by band members Jane Rothfield and Allan Carr.
Boasting four distinctive lead voices (Jane and Allen, plus Linda Schrade and David Kiphuth) with great harmonies and instrumental excellence (Jane on fiddle and banjo, Allan on guitar and bass, Linda on guitar, David on banjo and dobro), Red Hen is acoustic Americana at its best.
Note: Caffe Lena is an all-ages listening room that does not serve alcohol. Desserts, light vegetarian fare, and organic fair-trade coffee are offered at all shows. //
