Footloose presents Happiness
Shotwell Studios San Francisco, CA
Happiness is a physical theater solo written and performed by Heather Harpham. She distills the emotional marathon of caring for her perilously sick daughter into a lyrical narrative that swerves into ethereal landscapes and teeters on the razor thin edge between pathos and humor.
Heather Harpham has performed widely in New York City. Her solo work has been selected for the Wonder Woman Festival of 2007 and the One Woman Standing Festival in 2008. In November of 2008, Happiness was presented in Nepal as part of the Kathmandu International Theater Festival. Her writing and performance have won several awards including the Brenda Ueland Prose Prize, and a nomination for a New York Innovative Theater Award in 2008. She is a Senior Teacher of Action Theater, the physical theater form developed by world-renowned improviser Ruth Zaporah.
