Notes for Life

The Latchis Theater
Brattleboro, VT

Notes for Life brings together the most incredible talent from up-and-down the Eastern seaboard to create an unbelievable night to remember.

First up, Broadway diva KATE PAZAKIS will floor you with pipes that are not to be believed. Kate Pazakis's Off-Broadway credits include A Broadway Diva Christmas, Newsical & her MAC nominated show The Sexless Years. She has performed at over one hundred readings & charity benefits including The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas for the Actors Fund & has appeared on NBC's "Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting," at Carnegie Hall in Jerry Springer, the Opera & aboard Rosie O'Donnell's R Family Cruises. She recently released her debut album "Unzipped" which can be purchased on iTunes or on Amazon. "Unzipped" features brand new material by Tony Award Wining Composer Jason Robert Brown. Her film credits include playing herself in The Big Gay Musical. Each Friday, Kate co-hosts "Mostly Sondheim" with Xanadu's Marty Thomas and musical director Brian J. Nash. For more information on Kate, visit http://www.katepazakis.com.

Next up, indie-folk-rock heroes WINTERPILLS will show you what breathtaking harmonies are all about. When Winterpills released their debut album in the fall of 2005, fans and critics alike scrambled to define what made it one of most significant musical discoveries of the year. Critics met the album with descriptions like "heavy with moments of sheer beauty", "exquisite vocals, deeply moving, heartrending", and "as textured as the best indie rock around". Fans put the album in the Top 100 on iTunes and Amazon.com and made Winterpills a most requested band on radio stations across the country. For more info on Winterpills, check out http://www.winterpills.com.

Closing the event, SAMIRAH EVANS AND HER HANDSOME DEVILS will bring the house down. In New Orleans, a city known worldwide for its music, Samirah was one of its most popular jazz & blues vocalists. She first performed at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in 1990, and became a regular fixture as both a leader and a featured vocalist for fourteen consecutive years. She has toured Europe, Asia, and both North and South America as a headliner, and shared stages with a multitude of legendary artists from B.B. King and James Brown, to New Orleans own Queen of Soul, Irma Thomas. With a recent move to Vermont, Samirah has been delighting audiences all over New England with her distinct brand of soulful electric jazz rhythms...pure magic. For more info on Samirah, go to http://www.samirahevans.com.

Proceeds from Notes for Life will be split between the AIDS Project of Southern Vermont (http://www.aidsprojectsouthernvermont.org/) and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation (http://www.sfaf.org). These funds will help provide vital services and programs designed to improve the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS and to reduce the number of new infections that occur each year.

HIV/AIDS have not gone away...the time for us to help is now. Please join us for a truly special evening where we come together for a single cause and create notes for life.
