In this fast-paced environment, young artists are expected to be impeccable musicians, technicians, actors, and business people right at the start of their careers. Boulder Music Institute is taking on the mission of helping young singers prepare for the rigors of opera in today's world. Come support our local, young operatic talent in this public masterclass that is sure to impress.
Frank Lopardo, Tenor
One of the leading lyric tenors of our day, Frank Lopardo has sung regularly with the most prestigious operatic companies and orchestras around the world. He has collaborated with the world's nest conductors including Claudio Abbado, Bruno Bartoletti, Leonard Bernstein, James Conlon, Sir Andrew Davis, Sir Colin Davis, Charles Dutoit, Christoph Eschenbach, James Levine, Zubin Mehta, Riccardo Muti, Seiji Ozawa, Sir Georg Solti, Robert Spano and Michael Tilson Thomas.
Most recently, he made a triumphant return to the Lyric Opera of Chicago as Riccardo in Un ballo in maschera in which the Chicago Sun-Tribune wrote, "Lopardo is an elegant stylist, and one admired the bright beauty of his voice as much as the dynamic nuance and subtlety of phrasing he brought to the reckless monarch's music." He also performed Rachmaninov's The Bells with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Pinkerton in Madama Buttery with the Atlanta Symphony. Next, he will sing Verdi's Requiem with the San Francisco Symphony and the Malmö Symphony Orchestra in Sweden as well as Gabriele Adorno in a return to the Lyric Opera of Chicago in Simon Boccanegra.
