FIRST COURSE Kumamoto Oysters on the Half Shell cucumber & melon mignonette 2013 Rosé de Sciaccarellu, Domaine de Marquiliani, Corsica, France Etherically elegant. A wispy saline thing. Oh la la, la la la la la (a Grace Potter reference-sing it).
SECOND COURSE Chicken Liver Mousse pickles vegetable, brioche 2013 Reuilly Rosé, Domaine de Reuilly, Loire Valley, France An elegant swath of robustness dances across the tongue. Clean & steely.
THIRD COURSE Bourride de Sete white fish stew, peewee potatoes, aïoli 2013 Coteaux du Languedoc Rosé, Château de Lascaux, Languedoc, France Like a kinder, gentler Tavel. A sturdy backbone but with some elegance sloshing through it.
FOURTH COURSE Braised Beef Cheek pommes purée, braised onion 2013 Tavel, Château de Trinquevedel, Rhône River Valley, France A rosé with some chutzpah. A sturdy wine that could kick down any beef cheek willing to get into the ring.
