Snap on 2&4 w/ Dara Tucker
The Nashville Jazz Workshop is excited to welcome back to the Jazz Cave vocalist Dara Tucker. Dara's last Snap on 2&4 in 2012 was a sold-out affair, and we don't expect this one to be any different.
Besides her appearances around town, Dara tours around the country, including frequent visits to New York's famed Blue Note and Smoke Jazz Club, Snug Harbor in New Orleans, Scullers in Boston, and many others.
For her Friday, July 11, 8pm performance, Dara will be joined by Greg Bryant (bass), Nioshi Jackson (drums), Joe Davidian (piano), and James DaSilva (guitar).
What's even more exciting is that this performance will celebrate the release of Dara's new CD, The Sun Season, consisting almost entirely of original material. Recorded over two days at David Stoller's Samurai Hotel Studios in Queens, New York, the project features pianist Helen Sung, drummer Donald Edwards, guitarist Peter Bernstein, bassist/producer Greg Bryant, and horn players John Ellis and Alan Ferber. The resulting project is a joyful presentation with memorable contributions from the entire cast.
Copies of the CD will be on sale at the event, and patrons will be among the first to hear this new material live!
There will be two sets beginning at 8:00 pm in the Jazz Cave at the Workshop. Admission is $20 / $10 high school and college students with ID. Tickets will go on sale Monday June 30 at 10AM and will be available online on this page, by phone 24/7 at Brown Paper Tickets (800-838-3006) or during business hours at the NJW office (242-5299). A small convenience charge is added to online or 800-number purchases.
Policies: The Jazz Cave is a BYOB establishment, with no alcohol or food service. You are free to bring alcoholic beverages and snacks. We sell soft drinks and bottled water. The Jazz Cave is a listening room, and we ask patrons to keep conversation to a minimum and silence cell phones. Audio and video recording is prohibited.
