Bemidji Symphony Orchestra presents "Jae, Jazz and More"
Cool, smooth, and lively are the sounds you'll hear when the Jae Sinnett Trio joins the BSO for orchestral premieres of Jae's original compositions. Also on the program are family pops and patriotic standards.

Drummer Jae Sinnett is one of the nation's leading jazz commentators and musicians.  He is known as a lyrical and intelligent composer and his music works beautifully for orchestrations. He's written over 150 compositions and has scored music for five documentaries.

Jae attended Norfolk State and Old Dominion Universities in Virginia. As a jazz educator, he taught jazz history, theory and percussion and directed the jazz big band and jazz combos at the Governors School for the Arts in Norfolk VA. He is coming up on his 25th year as jazz producer/host for National Public Radio affiliate, WHRV-FM, 89.5 in Norfolk, VA, where he hosts a very popular jazz show called "Sinnett In Session."

Jae Sinnett has performed with Branford and Ellis Marsalis, Joe Henderson, Freddie Hubbard, Chuck Mangione, Charlie Byrd, Herb Ellis, Chico Freeman, Arthur Blythe, Carol Sloane, Jon Hendricks, Randy Brecker, James Moody, Kenny Drew Jr., Fred Hersch, Mulgrew Millew, James Williams, Jack Walwrath, Makoto Ozone, JoAnne Brackeen, Andrew White, Frank Morgan and many others. As a recording artist, he has twelve recordings out of his work.

Pianist Allen Farnham s a graduate of Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio. Allen, a gifted arranger and composer, has performed with Mel Torme, Susannah McCorkle, John Fedchock and many others.

Bassist Terry Burrell has played with Steve Coleman and the Five Elements as well as with Chuck Mangione, Hilton Ruiz and others. Accomplished on both electric and acoustic bass, he's versatile in many jazz styles. Terry attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond VA.
