Description
Set in the wonderful Hotel Andra Ballroom, The Good Life events begin with cocktails, tasty treats & mingling, and are highlighted by an onstage conversation and interview with the author, led by Warren Etheredge of The Warren Report.  Following the talk is a lively audience question and answer period, and then Keltner will personalize your book.  Appetizers and a copy of 'Born to Be Good: The Science of a Meaningful Life' are included in the $35 ticket price. A cash bar is available, and the evening ends with a Theo Chocolate confection.

In 'Born to Be Good: The Science of a Meaningful Life', his startling study of human emotion, Keltner investigates an unanswered question of human evolution: if humans are hardwired to live lives that are "nasty, brutish and short", why have we evolved with positive emotions like gratitude, amusement, awe, compassion and cooperation?  Keltner takes us on a journey into our positive emotions, which lie at the core of human nature and shape our everyday behavior--and they may be the key to understanding how we can live our lives better. Dacher Keltner is a professor of psychology at UC/Berkeley, and the director of the Greater Good Science Center and coeditor of Greater Good Magazine.
