The Barn Tour 2009

Preservation Napa Valley and Napa County Farm Bureau present the 1st annual Barn Tour: an annual event to celebrate our agriculture heritage. Five barns will be toured on Sunday, August 30th, from 1-5 pm, all close to the town of St Helena, California. This open house type format will allow folks to see the beauty, place and importance of these Napa agricultural icons. Live -work, traditional working, retail, renovated and other types of barns will be open, with docents and histories for each barn. There will also be several special diversions, from an incredible artist's gallery to quick stop-overs at quirky, old places.
This fundraiser for Preservation Napa Valley will also produce a very special limited edition, hand type set, commemorative poster to raise additional funds. After visiting four barns, attendees will end up at the last barn, the White Barn on Sulphur Springs Road, for little noshing, nibbling and acoustic blue grass. Five local artists will be exhibiting their artwork and a brief presentation will be made by Preservation Napa Valley director Wendy Ward about the history, importance and rehabilitation of Napa Valley barns.

Note: The ESSENTIAL touring brochure may be picked up at the Varozza (514 Pratt Ave), Napa Valley Olive Oil (835 Charter Oak) or Spring Mountain Vineyard (2805 Spring Mtn Road) barn. In the brochure will be a map, special, local diversions and the histories of each barn.
