Hip Hop Back To Its Roots Festival
The Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center presents "Hip Hop, Back to its Roots", a weekend of hip hop festivities featuring some of Seattle's top local artistic talent in the genres of b-boy, b-girl dance, vocals, African drumming, spoken word, hip hop, mc's, and more. Through live performances and interactive workshops, "Hip Hop, Back to its Roots" will pay tribute to all the elements that have influenced hip hop such as reggae, blues, jazz, R&B and will acknowledge hip hop from a historical content where the music, the rhythms, and the rhymes originated from. This festival will lead its audience through the vibrant art forms of this energetic youth driven movement.
