See you in the park MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING Smith Street Stage celebrates its fifth year of Shakespeare in Carroll Park with Shakespeare's Comedy of Wit, Much Ado About Nothing. Brooklyn's Carroll Park doubles as the Messina of the play as its citizens transition from war to a war of words. This city on summer vacation indulges in a round of Shakespearean gossip, pranks and matchmaking with a distinct New York undercurrent of romantic, sexy intensity. The company's most accomplished ensemble to date will be joined by a three piece rock band, bringing their own form of heat to the city's fastest growing Shakespeare company in what should be its finest, and funniest, show yet. Shakespeare Garden Party Fundraiser

Smith Street Stage is hosting their annual fundraiser to benefit free Shakespeare in Carroll Park. This year's event will will take place at the charming Magnolia House in the West Village (49 Barrow Street, NY, NY 10014). The theme will be a classic garden party with a gaming twist, garden attire is encouraged. There will be live music by Ruark Downey & Co., trivia, and garden games. All tickets include unlimited libations and food. Proceeds from this event will go directly to the SSS Production of "Much Ado About Nothing", coming later this Summer.
