ASYMMETRY
Paul E Richards Theater Place Los Angeles, CA
Six lives. One night. Asymmetry chronicles the halting first steps of three fledgling relationships, as six damaged people fumble for intimacy and balance. Each of these broken relationships comes to a head in one night, in the same physical space, each couple unaware of the others even as their stories intertwine.
Lucid by Proxy's orginal version of Asymmetry debuted one year ago, playing six performances as part of the 2005 Los Angeles Edge of the World Festival. The response was overwhelming:
"perfectly balanced" - Backstage West (Critic's Pick) "compact, subtle ... top-notch" - LAWeekly ("Go" pick) "Simply the best of the EdgeFest" - ReviewPlays.com "the play's emotional core is compelling and so, too, is the fearless creative grab of this vigorous company." - LA Times (Recommended Pick)
2006 brings a new, fine-tuned version of playwright/director Rick Robinson's powerful production to the intimate Paul E. Richards Theater Place in Silverlake for a full five-week run.
Asymmetry is the 14th production from Lucid by Proxy, a not-for-profit arts group dedicated to producing new, original theater in Los Angeles. Visit www.lucidbyproxy.com for more information.
Note: Due to the configuration of the theater space there will be no late seating.
