Ales For ALS BeerFest
The Ales for ALS BeerFest will be held Saturday, July 26th at Faction Brewing Company at 2501 Monarch Street in Alameda (at the Old Naval Air Station). Rodger Davis and Claudia Pamparana will open up the property their brewery sits on for this day to host all of the California craft brewers who are participants in the "Ales for ALS" program benefitting ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI). The "Ales for ALS" initiative, in its second year, raises over $150,000 annually for the ALS TDI.
Loftus Ranches and Hopunion, both of Yakima, WA, along with the Smith and Hanses famiiles, have created Ales for ALS to support a very worthy cause ALS research. They have offered participating brewers access to a proprietary hop blend, free of charge, in exchange for participation in Ales for ALS. While we would like to work with every brewer in the United States (that would really raise a lot of research funding!) we are limited by the hop blend supply. Participating brewers receive an invitation from Loftus Ranches and Hopunion. Each will brew special beers with these hops and will donate a portion of the sales to ALS TDI, the world's leader in ALS research.
A full list of participants and brewers is included in the posters and announcements for the event. Please contact Faction Brewing for more information.
