Dance Generators is an intergenerational performance company consisting of dancers in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s. Founded in 1997 by Amie Dowling, the Dance Generators have toured widely throughout New England, and they continue to appear regularly at local theaters, schools, senior homes, community centers, and colleges.
The company will present their annual concert of new works June 5, 6 and 7 at 8:00PM. This year's Dance Generators program celebrates the last season of Artistic Director Kristin Horrigan's 8 years of leadership and will be performed at the Dance Studio in Scott Gym at Smith College. The program features choreography by artistic director Kristin Horrigan, company member Susan Waltner, and guest choreographers Jennifer Nugent, Terre Unité Parker, and Jennifer Polins, as well as improvisation directed by Peter Schmitz.
In this season's new dances, the dancers explore memory and community, celebration and play, and human relationships to nature.
Tickets are available online or at door beginning 30 minutes before each performance.
