Description
Nautilus presents the premiere production of four new one-act music-theater pieces created for and performed by the Baldwin sisters. Know for their frequent performances with Theatre de la Jeune Lune, the Guthrie Theatre, and Nautilus, Christina Baldwin and Jennifer Baldwin Peden are among the most popular singer-actors in the Twin Cities. Their lush vocalism and riveting stage presence have been called "captivating, touching, exquisite, and wrenchingly beautiful" by critics and audiences alike.

Nautilus commissioned SISTER STORIES specifically for the Baldwins over the last nine years. The production consists of four short one-acts: FRUIT OF THE FAMILY TREE, By Anne Dimock and Becky Dale; LOOKING GLASS LAKE, by Jim Payne and Leslie Ball; SO THIS DUCK WALKS INTO A PSYCHIATRIST'S OFFICE... by Ari Hoptman and George Maurer; and PERSEPHONES SISTER by Dominic Orlando and Robert Elhai.

Each of the pieces are stand-alone vignettes, offering four diverse views of sisterhood, presented in an astonishing variety of musical and theatrical styles. All of the pieces were created by local writers and composers, and although each one of the pieces has been presented in Nautilus works-in-progress Rough Cuts series, this is the first opportunity to see all four pieces together, fully staged.

The production will be directed by Nautilus artistic director Ben Krywosz, with Tom Linker providing musical direction. Sets and costumes are designed by Victoria Petrovich, and the lighting design is by Michael Wangen.
