Description
Never the Sinner: The Leopold and Loeb Story, the Inaugural production of Project 891 Theatre Company will open on July 10 and run through August 2nd at Chemically Imbalanced Theatre (1420 W. Irving Park Road Chicago, IL 60613). This production features Matt Hays (Richard Loeb) Ron Popp (Nathan Leopold) Gerry Murphy (Clarence Darrow) Robert Kaercher (Robert Crowe) and rounding out the cast are Chicago actors Liz Hoffman, Jacob Ware and Matthew Lozano. Never the Sinner will be directed by Michael Rashid.

Never the Sinner tells the strange love story between Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb, two wealthy teenagers who, in 1924 Chicago, decide to commit the perfect crime committing a murder and getting away with it.  Once caught, the courtroom quickly becomes a battleground of ideas between famed lawyer Clarence Darrow and States Attorney Robert Crowe. This crime of the century made celebrities out of the two killers and has inspired such films and novels as Rope, Compulsion and, more recently, Murder by Numbers.
