Les Miserables School Edition
Warner Grand Theatre San Pedro, CA
This endearing musical is based on the novel by Victor Hugo, recounting the struggles against adversity in 19th century France. All the elements of the human condition are tapped into including injustice, revolution, mercy, grace, loyalty, friendship, forgiveness and love, laced together with comic relief in this epic. The story begins with the parole-breaking Jean Valjean and the struggles and joys he faces throughout his life, and the memorable characters he comes across such as Fantine, Thenardiers, Cosette, Marius, Eponine, Enjolras the revolutionary students, French peasantry and more. Les Miserables is sung through and filled with recognizable and memorable songs. This school edition will be performed by a veteran cast of high school students and has a run time of just over two hours. The story and songs will tug at your heart, and leave you with the hope that "to love another person is to see the hand of God" and "tomorrow comes!."
