Description
Performer Joe Orrach, former USAF welterweight boxing champ and tap sensation, delivers a coming of age story that winds through riffs of jazz, Latin and rock 'n roll. Orrach has performed throughout the world solo and along with such greats as Savion Glover, Gregory Hines, Honi Coles, Jimmy Slyde, as well as appearing in films by Woody Allen, James Mangold and others. Born into a family dominated by a line of Puerto Rican boxers and sweetened by a tradition of Sicilian food, gesture and song, Joe presents a personal story in a high-powered evening of narrative, music and movement. In this dramatic solo performance, Joe is directed by Jim Cave and accompanied by a jazz ensemble, led by musical director and world class pianist Matthew Clark. The show is as fun and full of life as the performer who created it. A 75 minute show.

These performances benefit Oakland School of the Arts.
