Black Folks Guide To Black Folks

Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center
Seattle, WA

TICKETS NOW ON SALE AT THE DOOR!
Box office opens at 6:30pm

Black Folks Guide to Black Folks is a one-woman hip-hop theatre comedic tour de force starring the playwright, poet Hanifah Walidah.  It was heralded to critical acclaim in both the San Francisco Chronicle and East Bay Express in its preview run and at the New York Hip Hop Theatre Festival. In the play Walidah plays an entire neighborhood of characters linked together in a polyrhythmic mesh of loves and life lessons. Black Folks Guide approaches the topic of homophobia in the black community by remaining true to the familiar as it blurs the lines and giggles in the faces of sexuality, health, love, faith, and fear.
