In-Ko-Pah Festival
The In-Ko-Pah Festival emerged from a desire for a classic, DIY music festival. We wanted to recapture the raw and non-commercial experience of an outdoor gathering in a beautiful and unique location. This independently produced music festival offers an evening of music under the wide-open desert sky at California Historical Monument #939, The Desert View Tower. Perched on a rocky hillside, the site hovers over the Anza-Borrego Desert, 80 miles east of San Diego, near Jacumba, CA. The In-Ko-Pah Festival offers music lovers and naturalists alike a chance to experience an authentic overnight music festival within our Southwest region.

ESSENTIALS Attending an event such as the In-Ko-Pah Festival requires a small but vital level of maturity and common sense. We'll be in the desert and the site is rural, so expect just that - rural beauty without the conditions of city life. Come prepared to relax and do some serious stargazing.
FOOD AND REFRESHMENTS We're making an effort to keep this event as non-commercial as possible (no corporate sponsorships). As a result, there will be limited concessions. We will not be selling beverages! Guest should bring sufficient food and refreshments to support themselves and their friends for the duration of the event. Coolers are welcome! Water is a must and while tap water is available, attendees should come prepared with ample quantities of drinking water. Like other festivals, we recommend that you bring items to share or trade with your fellow festival attendees.
EVENT SITE The event will happen on the grounds of the Desert View Tower near Jacumba, CA. It is an easy one hour drive from San Diego to get to here. The site is located in the high-mountain desert at 2,800+ feet. While beautiful, it can get hot during the daytime (average > 85 F) and can out right cool (average low can reach 44 F) at night. Sunset will occur at 8:00 PM and sunrise will be at 5:40 AM so most attendees will miss the glare of the sun. That being said, attendees are recommended to bring sunscreen, camping gear rated to 40-50 F and warm clothing for your late night adventures. Sleeping bags are key. Being high in the mountains, the site is prone to strong winds so please come prepared.
