Moscow, Idaho native Josh Ritter will be playing the historical Egyptian Theatre on July 14 and 15.  This two night engagement will have Josh in two vastly different but equally entertaining settings.  The first night Josh will hit the stage with a full band. Opening the first night will be the bicycle touring Portland band Blind Pilot.  Of Blind Pilot, Paste Magazine has said, Sounds a lot like what James Mercer of The Shins would sound like if he recorded a solo acoustic album. And there are trumpets, lots of trumpets.  Its quite wonderful.  On the second night, Josh will be joined by a string section from the Boise Philharmonic.  Opening the second night will be the imitable, Grammy nominated Tift Merritt.

This will be one of the most exciting shows of the year.

Ritter has been chewing up column inches all over the world since the release of his first album Golden Age of Radio.  Famed author Stephen King chose Ritters 2006 release, The Animal Years, as his favorite record of 2006.  The best album of the year in a walk, and maybe the best album I've heard in the last five. Mysterious, melancholy, melodic ... and those are only the M's, said King.

A recent quote from The Washington Post further proves the legend that is Josh Ritter, How refreshing and inspiring it is to encounter a young artist whose achievements match his ambitions.
