MUSA Baroque Ensemble presents "Martial Follies"
The exciting new MUSA Baroque Ensemble presents "Martial Follies" - a program of military-inspired music, including Telemann's Don Quixote Ouverture-Suite, a march and folia by Lully, and a world premiere by Danny Clay, commission for MUSA with the support of the Zellerbach Family Foundation.
MUSA was founded in 2012 by eight young passionate musicians with a shared excitement for bringing the sounds of centuries-old music to life on gut strings and period instruments. An affiliate of the San Francisco Friends of Chamber Music, MUSA's recent projects include a program of French baroque at the San Francisco Legion of Honor Museum exhibition "Royal Treasures from the Louvre" and a Dutch baroque program at The de Young Museum in conjunction with the exhibit "Girl with a Pearl Earring". MUSA has also partnered with other up-and-coming early music artists including mezzo-soprano Danielle Reutter-Harrah and traverso player Joshua Romatowski.
