With his imagination often dwelling in the very real places of his past and present, as well as in the possible future, McDougall's songs may very well seat you by a coffee-can fire in the middle of a dry California river-bed, pull you up onto a freight train in the lush spring-time of the Pacific northwest, raise your voice in hymns with the entire family on a Thanksgiving afternoon, or haste your good-bye to civilization as you know it, as you ramble on with all you possess on your back. Fact, fiction, and a little in between, McDougall carries on the relevant tradition of oral history and folklore, making it a part of everyday life and sharing it with those around him. Inspired by the word of God, his family, friends, fellow workers and fellow travelers met along the way, McDougall wishes to keep to the unwritten rule of using what was left by those before while leaving something of your own for those who will come after. A traveler, a dreamer, and a banjo pickin' songstress from Arkansas, now settled in the lush Eden green of Olympia, Washington.  Kendl Winter sprouts alfalfa beans in mason jars in the back of the tour van and spreads her songs across the country Johnny Appleseed style. Her voice is beautifully unique and bold, and her songs are thoughtfully poetic and rooted deep within her diverse experiences. Previously of the Blackberry Bushes String band, she has branched off and out into new projects and new frontiers.  Her captivating performances and solo work are even more powerful and mesmerizing. Stemming from an old-time and bluegrass bend grown from punk roots, Kendl brings to The Lowest Pair her wonderfully weaving poetry of song, old and new, a voice somewhere between Gillian Welch and Iris DeMent and throwing a little Olympia twist on those familiar sounds.

Minnesotan picker and songcrafter Palmer T. Lee was nineteen years old when he inherited a couple of banjos and discovered he could reassemble them into his dream instrument. He's been tweakin' and twangin' away ever since.   Fronting Minneapolis's much loved high energy bluegrass band The Boys n' the Barrels, supporting several other Minneapolis based bands and songwriters including Drew Peterson and The Dead Pigeons, and Black Audience... and now working in duet with Kendl Winter, The Lowest Pair. Solo, he is a performance not to be missed. His voice is warm and sad with longing like that of Townes Van Zandt yet laughing and whooping like that of John Hartford.  Palmer's songs are distilled into the warm sweet sounds of his percussive wordplay and the melodic interludes of his own unique style played on his pieced together banjo. We want you to stay safe, so you're welcome to bring your tent, van or RV and find a camping spot for the night of the concert. Camping spaces are limited and are assigned on a first come-first serve basis. Please be sure to choose the correct ticket link (WITH or WITHOUT)camping for each adult attending the show. PLEASE LEAVE YOUR PETS AT HOME!

All contribution levels are suggested minimum amounts, so you're welcome to add extra funds for the band or to help with mandatory venue expenses. We appreciate all the help we can get in making this a fantastic private venue that we can all enjoy together.

100% of your contributions directly benefit the musicians who play here. Making a contribution is sometimes referred to as "admission or buying a ticket", but this is not accurate. We call it contributing or participating, because Music on the Mounds is not a business that you buy something from, but rather a music co-op where we all pool our money together to pay for the bands.

People under 25 are welcome with a responsible adult who has researched and approved the venue and the bands and musicians specific to this event.

We can't wait to see you and your friends on the mounds!
