EMPEROR NORTON the Musical
The Dark Room Theater San Francisco, CA
The Dark Room and Third Child Productions present EMPEROR NORTON the Musical, directed by and starring Jim Fourniadis. Set in post-Gold Rush San Francisco, EMPEROR NORTON the Musical is based on the true story of Joshua Norton, a failed businessman who went mad, proclaimed himself "Emperor of the United States and Protector of Mexico", consorted with Mark Twain, and decreed the construction of the Bay Bridge.
Honored with a Farley cartoon by the late, great Phil Frank and an "Editor's Pick" in Theater Bay Area Magazine, EMPEROR NORTON the Musical is a rollicking and loving tribute to the first and only Emperor of the United States.
