Everything Must Go!
11 actors portray 42 characters in 12 short plays written by hal evans (one by hal evans and Tracy Elizabeth Hults).
Audience enters the theater and world of the first play as they enter the front door of the lobby. These short plays range the comedic laughscape, from straightforward 'laugh till you spit!' type shows to darker, sterner stuff. In an experience that is part promenade, part performance art, the staging deconstructs the theater experience for all who attend.
Take part in the production as you peruse the 'going-out-of-business sale' and make your purchases from the props. Participate in the jury pool and help create the final scene, chipping in your two cents when called upon. Then, share a beverage with actors during the post-performance talk backs (called 'KnowShows').
Director, hal evans, immerses theater-goers in the characters' experience through a minimalist approach he calls 'metacognitive theatre.' Actors change costumes and roles before your very eyes. They expose the process of ensemble acting as a way to hold the mirror up to nature. The method to this madness is that humor, truth and tragedy connect to the audience immediately.
In these 12 original plays, Intrepid Fringe features five established pros on the Houston stage: Zach Braver, Thunder Denton, hal evans, Tracy Elizabeth Hults, and Kirk Mashue. IF also proudly debuts six new professional actors: Nicole de Faymoreau, Kristin McNeeley, Sharmise Poinquinette, Bryan Powell, Alec Ryan, Caleb Williams.
