Love incites madness and fairy juice confuses four young lovers fleeing a tyrannical father and an unjust law. All four find themselves in an enchanted forest where fairies and sprites intervene in human affairs, local workers rehearse amateur theatricals, and the boundaries between reality and imagination blur. Hilarity, love, magic and music merge in A Midsummer Night's Dream, one of Shakespeares best-loved comedies.
Theatergoers drink wine, as the sun sets on the Queen Anne Victorian which is the Livermore Shakespeare Festival backdrop, set amid the lush vines of Concannon Vineyard. Patrons arrive early to picnic on the lawn or under the arbor, entertained by strolling musicians, before the outdoor performance begins.
Note: Discount Preview is Thursday July 9th.
Gala opening with dinner under the arbor is Friday, July 10th - a night to remember! Free parking.
On Family Night Sundays, July 12th & 19th, kids tix are $5. Try them out on their first Shakespeare!
