Just about everyone has a favorite Gershwin tune. It could be the haunting melody of The Man I Love or the pulsating beat in I Got Rhythm.  Perhaps it's the iconic Rhapsody in Blue or film classic American in Paris. Austin Theatre Project is thrilled to present its first original mainstage production, "'S Gershwin: the Life and Music of an American Icon."

Conceived, written and directed by ATP Artistic Director David Blackburn, "'S Gershwin" is filled with over twenty of the songs that defined American life in the 1920's and 1930's. The cast will be filled with some of the most beautiful voices in the Austin area along with some remarkable dancers performing in ballets created by choreographer Meghan Bowman.

The accompaniment for "'S Gershwin" will be provided by Karl Logue and David Blackburn on twin grand pianos which were graciously provided to ATP by Austin's Strait Music.
