About the movies:
NOSFERATU, 1922, 84 min, Germany, Dir: F.W. Murnau
When the eerie Count Orlok enlists estate agent Hutter to help him move from his castle in Transylvania to a house in Hutter's town, Hutter has no idea his new neighbor is a vampire who brings a plague of death in his wake. Only the innocent heart of Hutter's young wife can overcome the Count's terrifying rampage.
The silent classic based on the story of Dracula, Nosferatu's chilling depiction of the vampire Count Orlok burned its way into the public mind and remains influential to this day.
FREAKS, 1932, 64 minutes, USA, Dir: Tod Browning
Seduction, betrayal and terror at the circus! Beautiful trapeze artist Cleopatra mocks the sideshow freaks until she finds out about midget Hans' inheritance. Together she conspires with her lover, the strongman Hercules, to seduce Hans for his money. Blinded by her beauty, Hans ignores the warnings of his fellow freaks until their wedding party, when Cleopatra reveals her evil intent in a drunken rage. Together, the freaks exact a brutal revenge.
Banned for years and so reviled in its time that it ruined the career of director Tod Browning, Freaks has since been embraced by audiences the world over and has enjoyed a cult following lasting decades.
