The New York Hieroglyphics (including 5 original members) and Malian singer Abdoulaye Diabate spotlight pieces from their new CD. Apfelbaum founded the Hieroglyphics during his senior year at Berkeley High in 1977. One of Mali's foremost singers, Diabate, is renowned for fusing Malian traditions with jazz.
Two shows: 8pm and 10pm $18 adv. / $20 dr.
